A balcony with a view of the rising moon. This is what Zoon-e-Dab translates into. In all traditional houses, balconies were placed with such a view and since they were east facing, they also had the view of prominent peaks like Harmukh and Mahadev. Thus, it became customary for people to see these peaks with moonlight falling on them.
Zoon-e-dab is located on the first floor of the southern part of the property. It is a newly furnished suite, with large windows over looking the garden. Zoon-e-dab also has a separate seating where you can sit and enjoy a book with the view of the garden or even the moon (zoon as they call it in kashmiri). Zoon-e-dab is a large room (20 feet by 12 feet) the bathroom of zoon-e-dab is (7 by 9 feet).
